Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is a historical fiction novel set in France during WWII. I love historical fiction and Hannah does an amazing job with creating a strong female protagonist. Vianne Mauriac's husband must leave to fight in the war. Vianne's sister, Isabelle, is a rebel. Combine the two, plus how a German Captain takes over Vianne's home and you have an interesting plot. The story has great hardship, strength, resistance, relationships, and love. If you enjoy historical fiction don't pass up this wonderful story.

The Girl in The Spider's Web by David Lagercrantz

I really didn't think that this series would continue to be as good as the original books, but I was surprised to see that I was as engaged in this book as I was in the first books. Lisbeth's character continued to grab my attention. I highly recommend The Girl in the Spider's Web if you want to continue the series.
